The  Bo District   Health Sister One(DHS1) at the Bo District Health Management, Gladys Sesay  has been granted  bail in the sum of one hundred and  fifty Million  Leone after pleaded  not guilty to  six counts  corruption charges slammed against her at the Bo  High Court  presided over Justice Alfred Tommy Ganda on the 20 May, 2021.

According to the particulars of the offence in  court one;  Gladys  Sesay of reservation  on the date of 1 March and 20th June  accepted an advantage contrary  to section 28(2)(a) as amended by the  Anti-corruption Commission(ACC) Act on No.9 of 20019  to with, the sum of  Le250,000 without lawful consideration  from  Mariama  Tommy , who is a State Enrolled  Community Health  Nurse when she submitted  her public  Service Commission(PSC)  form to the accused  to be renewed,

In count two the accuse is charged on abuse of office contrary to 42(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act No. 12 to with by improperly conferring on herself (Gladys) an advantage  in the sum of 250,000 in respect  of the submission  to her by Mariama Tommy.

 Count three accepting advantage contrary to section 28(2)(a) to wit  the sum of Le 50,000 as an inducement to renew the expired license of Mariama Tommy.

Count four abuse of Office  contrary to 42(1) of the  Anti-Corruption Commission  Act No.12 of 2008 as amended  by the  Anti-Corruption Commission  Act of  9 of 2009  wit  Le50,000 in respect of renewal of  expired nursing license

While in count five accepting  advantage  contrary to the section 28(2)(a) of the ACC  Act No 12 of 2008 as amended by the ACC(amendment)  Act No.9of 2019  to wit the sum of  50,000 without lawful consideration from Aminata Conteh, a State Enrolled Nurse as inducement  to renew her expired nursing license.

 For count six charged with abuse of office contrary to section 42(1) of the ACC Act No. 12 of 2000 as amended by the ACC (amendment) Act of No 9 of 2019 to wit the sum of fifty thousand Leones in respect of the renewal of expired nursing license belonging to Aminata Conteh.

The Prosecution Counsel of the Anti-Corruption Commission led by Lawyer N. Davies applied for a date for them to get their witnesses ready while the defense lawyer for the accused, Sam Navo applied for a bail which was not objected by the prosecution counsel.

The Judge, Justice Alfred Tommy Ganda granted the accused person bail in the sum of one hundred and fifty million and a surety in like sum, surety should be gainfully employed.

 It could be recalled that according to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) press release on the 7th May,2021 stated that on the 29th April, 2021, filed an indictment against GLADYS SESAY, the District Health Sister One (DHS-1) of the District Health Management Team (DHMT) Bo, in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) and of Government Reservation, Bo District, in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone, on Six (6) counts of corruption offences; three (3) counts of Accepting an Advantage, contrary to Section 28(2)(a) and Three (3) counts of Abuse of Office, contrary to Section 42(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 12 of 2008 as amended by the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2019. The matter has been adjourned to the 10 June 2021.
