The District Health Management Team (DHMT) has set its strategic health goals for 2025 during a successful three-day strategic retreat in Koribondo, Jaiama Chiefdom, on February 14, 2025. The retreat brought together key health officials and partners to review performance indicators and outline activity plans for the 2025 operational year.

Facilitated by the District Medical Officer (DMO), Dr. Amara Stevens Ngegbai, the retreat served as a platform for DHMT units and chiefdom supervisors to present their achievements, challenges, and strategic plans aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in the district. Dr. Ngegbai emphasised the importance of aligning health interventions with national priorities and ensuring efficient service delivery to improve health outcomes.

The event also featured presentations from esteemed health partners, who highlighted their ongoing activities and successes in supporting the district’s healthcare system. Their contributions underscored the collaborative approach necessary to address key health challenges and enhance service delivery.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on strategies to enhance maternal and child health, disease surveillance, and healthcare accessibility across the district. The retreat reinforced DHMT’s commitment to delivering quality health services and fostering stronger partnerships for a healthier Bo District.

As the team embarks on the implementation of their 2025 action plans, the retreat marks a significant step in strengthening the district’s healthcare system through improved planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
