The newly elected chairman of the Bo district council Victor korseh Hindowa has in an interview with our correspondent assured the residents of Bo of quality, transparent and accountable leadership for the next five years. He made the assurance when contacted to know his preparedness to run the Bo district council.
Chairman Hindowa explained that there are a lot of developmental activities the council needs to embark on in the district and it requires strength and energy, noting the resounding energy is what the people of BO should expect from him during his five years tenure coupled with effective and efficient service delivery. He stated that the opportunity to serve has been given to them by the electorates hence transparency and accountability is key.
Describing the current state of the aforementioned council, chairman Hindowa noted that the council was calm and it’s running smoothly, but he’s yet to meet with the management and team to discuss on where they were, where they are now and where they are going to further ensure effective service delivery, noting his predecessor did well for the people of BO and that his leadership will continue in that regards to foster more developments in the district.
When asked to know the strategies he is going to use to generate revenue in order to effect developments in the district, he explained that revenue generation is one of the key components for the effective operations of every council adding any council leader that does not have skills in generating revenue will not succeed in his leadership stating revenue generation is one of the key components of his version.
He said the council will only succeed in rolling out developments in the district when funds are available. He further pointed out that finance is the lubricant that helps the development engine of every council to move. Chairman Hindowa entreated all and sundry to fastening up their seat belts and get ready for a new development driving vehicle and assured to take them to a better destination.
