One of the aspiring candidates for the Bo City Mayoral contest who also doubles as the Regional Young Generation Leader for the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Southern Region Kobba Musa, has injected new hope in the youth of the party by paying keen attention to them once he is elected Mayor for Bo City
Kobba Musa made such glad tidings assurance when addressing youth recently in Bo during the visit of the 2023 presidential aspirant President Julius Maada Bio. He said as a young generation leader of the party, he is very close to the youth often move to various points where young people gathered to discuss issues that affects them.
“The youth have suffered for far too long. I feel sorry for the youth. There is a saying that goes he who feels it knows it. Because I feel sorry for the youth, I am aspiring for Mayor under the SLPP. I want to come and look for opportunities for the youth. I want to change how people perceived them. If Youth are engage, they’ll not cause problem. My focus is on all youths irrespective of your political party, tribe or region”, Kobba Musa said.
Kobba Musa also encouraged the youth to get themselves busy and stay away from trouble. He explained to the youth that he is not coming from a rich home but struggled to be where he is today. Kobba Musa also narrated that there are so many things youth can do to get money away from government jobs
He informed the youth that government through the ministry of youth affairs has provided jobs for so many youth. He made particular reference to the National Youth service which hundreds of young people have benefited from, and the car wash project which has brought dignity to car washers among others.
He described young people as an instrumental segment of Sierra Leone Population in terms of consolidating development. He reiterated that youth are not bad people as they play significant role in National Development.
Kobba Musa therefore, reassured that if elected Mayor for the Bo City council, he will prioritize young people. He acknowledged the simple fact that no country can develop without the involvement of young people. He concluding by calling of young people to be steadfast, be disciplined and God fearing as better opportunities are coming for youth under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio.
