In a strong demonstration of participatory governance, His Worship Kobba Musa, Mayor of Bo City Council, along with Deputy Mayor Madam Hawa Campbell and a cross-section of councilors, held a town hall-style meeting with residents of the Kowama community on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

The engagement formed part of the Council’s 22nd Ordinary Full Council Meeting of the Fifth Session for 2025 and aimed to discuss key development priorities, including infrastructure improvements, sanitation, youth empowerment, and enhanced service delivery in Kowama and the wider Bo municipality.

Held in the heart of the community, the interactive meeting served as a platform for local government officials to share updates on ongoing projects, collect feedback from residents, and promote transparency and inclusive governance.

“This engagement reflects our commitment to transparent and people-centered leadership,” said Mayor Kobba Musa. “We want our citizens to play an active role in shaping the development agenda of their communities.”

While many residents expressed appreciation for the council’s outreach and willingness to listen, they also called for urgent action to follow up on commitments made during previous engagements.

“We appreciate the conversation, but we are more concerned about seeing visible improvements,” remarked one community member.

The Bo City Council plans to continue these community engagement sessions across other wards as part of a broader strategy to bring governance closer to the people and ensure that their concerns and aspirations are directly reflected in policymaking and implementation.

This initiative underscores the council’s renewed focus on inclusive governance, where local voices are not only heard but also inform decisions that impact community development.
