The Chief Administrator of the Bo City Council, Veronica Fortune has said that the 2021 Audit Report has been received with a successful outcome, with Bo City Council getting an unqualified opinion.

She made this statement while giving the administrative report at this year’s July Monthly Council meeting held at the Council’s Chamber.

Madam Fortune expressed thanks and appreciation to the management and staff of the council including the councilors for their support to help the council to earn such an acclaimed report for the council.

She said that revenue collection is ongoing for business licenses and encouraged their esteemed taxpayers to collect a receipt from the cashier after payments are made at the banks.

“I encouraged all to continue to educate the public on the need to pay their taxes,’’ Madam Fortune said, noting that the revenue performance is amazing despite all odds as from January to June 2022, a total of money in the old Leones amounting to two billion and forty-six thousand, seven hundred and thirteen thousand and four hundred and thirty-one Leones.

Madam Fortune adds that the road maintenance fund program is ongoing and ward committees, councilors and management and staff of the council are encouraged to monitor to ensure that the right thing is done.

She said that the second phase of repairing the waste management vehicles is ongoing and that cleaning of the markets and other places within the city is gradually stabilizing, adding that rain gears have been distributed to all waste management staff.

Councilors of the Bo City Council lauded the current Chief Administrator for providing satisfactory administrative acumen much to their admiration which has helped to earn a laudable report and pledged to continue to give their unflinching cooperation and support to her and the council.
