The Development Planning Officer of the Bo City Council, Haja Halima Lukay has made clarification on boundary separating the Bo City Council and District Council. This followed controversy over payment of tax.
Bo District Council has been laying claims to some areas to be within their jurisdiction to collect tax.
Haja Halima Lukay told this medium that tax payers in Bo City and district councils have been confused over the boundary differentiating the two councils and created the situation where people have been wrongfully paying taxes.
She said this situation has been undermining development in certain areas, adding that Bo City Council works with gazzeted boundary local government boundary demarcation framework for both Cities.
She pointed out that from the Omega Fire Ministries at Kebbie Town onto Bo government Reservation area fall under the Bo City while from Gallinas Paradise and Niama Junction also fall under the Bo City Council.
She promised to give sign post to the diffentiate the necessary boundaries.
Madam Lukay also called on Ward committee members in both Bo and the District Councils to work with their various Councilors in the wards to engage the community people with periodic sensitization on boundary limitation to ease their property rate tax collection.
