It is official; President Julius Maada Bio has won another high rate champion award from a reputable international consortium of civil society organization and professionals. The awarding group is called the Africa Blue Economic Forum.
President Raila Odinga of Kenya is also another nominee for livelihood improvement.
Also, Chief Chibuikie Rotimi Amoechi Minister of Marine Resources is also another nominee for marine safety.
Regarding this award a release from the office of the President posted on social media Facebook by Presidential Spokesman Yusuf Keketoma Sandi reads:
“We welcome the nomination by the Africa Blue Economy Forum of His Excellency the President as a champion of Blue Economy in Africa.
This is a further testimony from an international institution of the admirable leadership of the President.
We are particularly delighted that the nomination is for the economic development category which is recognition of all the achievements he has made: increasing revenue mobilization in the fishery sector, curbing unreported and unregulated fishing, improving the maritime sector, tackling environmental issues in the blue economy and leading on blue economy initiatives in Africa.
We are hopeful that this international nomination will continue to exhibit his leadership on global challenges.”
