Bench Warrant for Absent Defendant

The defendant was not present in court when the matter was mentioned by the court clerk Solomon Tamba Bockarie of the Pademba Road Court No.6 in Freetown.

The defendant was brought to court on a private criminal summons by the complainant.

The defendant was standing trial on two counts of Trespass contrary to section 15 (I) (a) of the public order Act No 46 of 1965 and obtaining money by false pretences Contrary to Section 32 (1) of the larceny Act 1916.

Police alleged that the defendant Essekiwi Tamba Bangura on the 23rd of July 2022, at 34 Action Aid, Lumley Freetown unlawfully entered into the premises of the complainant in an annoying manner and on the said date again the defendant with intent to defraud obtained certain property that is to say the sum of six million Leones by falsely pretending that you have a house for rent to the complainant knowing same to be false.

Lawyer P Okoli made an application for a bench warrant pursuant to section 22 of the criminal procedure Act No 32 which was granted by Magistrate Peter Gogra.

The matter adjourned to the 19th of August 2022.
