Inasmuch as the younger generation is at the beck and call for new dawn of leadership, positive mindset, seeking for the welfare of communities and playing an active role in decision-making, it is with the fullest conviction that I write to say that the entering of a new phenomenon and a figure of hope for the people of Constituency 016 has been surfaced and ready to put lasting smiles into the faces of many dying families within Kenema District. You think this is a mood swing scenario or a fairytale? No, it cannot. Barrister Alice Sandy, who is one of the youngest guile of counsels Sierra Leone had produced in recent times has taken a lead in countless philanthropies activities as well as healing wounds of both the SLPPians in Kenema and the nation’s capital by and large.
Solicitor Sandy’s unassuming love for people had begun since her fulfillment of attaining her tertiary education at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone where she made herself viable among her colleagues and lecturers. She provided help for her friends especially during the time they needed it most. As if that was not enough, she replicated the same whiles in Law School in order to bring a spark for the next level of her journey. In the end, Alice Kornya Sandy made an outstanding record in that elite environment. Today, her profile is most suited and pleasing to see. This clearly serves as a testament that leaders are born with loyal supporters behind their backs more than a man. Alice Sandy Esq is not an exception. Her personality brings out a striking contrast to the unreasoning and mediocre desires of others when it comes to serving humanity.
Despite her celebratory banquet for graduating as Barrister and Solicitor of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alice has registered a spot in the political arena within the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) as the would-be Member of Parliament for Constituency 016 in the Kenema District as a result of her resilient, integrity and service to people. Her fluid combination of impressive track records, strong mind, better representation, empowerment and fostering of developmental agendas is worth emulating for any prospective politician. Her coming into the limelight has restored an array of hope and inspirations to the party and her constituency as well. Being part of the ruling party for her is a way of icing the cake during the upcoming multi-tier general elections.
The emergence of the soon-to-be MP of Constituency 016 Alice Kornya Sandy Esq has brought a fanfare of growing concern and prosperous future for women in governance and the people of her constituency. She is keen to develop Constituency 016 and always ready to be at the driving seat to debate significant issues in the well of Parliament on behalf of her people in Kenema.
With a reason not worth of mentioning, the enactment of the Gender Empowerment Bill by President Bio is a motivation for a woman like Alice Sandy. This Bill gives 30% quota to women in order to actively take part in decision making, leadership position, women representation in governance and serves as a voice for others. Therefore, the indispensable Barrister Alice Sandy is the woman with these unwavering qualities and she is the way, truth and the light for Constituency 016 in Kenema.
