Twenty-five-year-old Ibrahim Kamara, a barber, and thirty-five-year-old Victor Nelson Macauley, a contractor, made their first appearance before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh on two counts: Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916, and Receiving Stolen Goods contrary to Section 33(1) of the same Act.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Thursday, 10th July 2025, at Smith Drive, Leicester Village, Mountain Rural District, Western Area, Freetown, the accused stole timber comprising one hundred 2×3 pieces, ten 2×6 pieces, and other assorted items valued at a total of 18,200 Leones, belonging to John Bangura.

Count two further alleges that on the same date and place, the second accused knowingly received twelve leaves of 2×3 timber, valued at 720 Leones, which were stolen property of John Bangura.

When the charges were read and explained, the first accused pleaded guilty, while the second pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Sergeant 5598 Santigie Koroma requested a short adjournment to present witnesses on behalf of the second accused.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Gbloh refused bail for the second accused and remanded the first accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown for record and sentencing.

The case was adjourned to 25th July 2025 for further proceedings.
