The Principal of Baoma Secondary School in Baoma Chiefdom, Bo District, Munda Sumaila is currently harvesting over thirty bushes of rice cultivated to complement President Bio’s food security drive in the country.

Speaking to A-Z Newspaper in an upbeat mood, Mr. Sumaila said it would take about four weeks to harvest the rice on the farm and that this will go a long way to achieving the food security dive of the SLPP government.

“I am also determined to plant groundnut after I have harvested the rice and I am also doing this to ensure that the people diversify their eating habits in the chiefdom,” he said, adding that “I have bought about five dry bags of ground nut to cultivate.”

According to him, he is very much grateful to the Community Bank at Jerehun that loaned him to undertake such a huge investment in agriculture and I will remain to be proud of that bank.

He, however, called on the government to support him as he wants to do larger investments in agriculture than the current one he has done.

Also speaking to this medium was those harvesting the rice, who expressed their happiness over the work done by the Principal of Baoma Secondary School, describing it as unprecedented work done with his mere salary and the loan taken from the community Bank that was not misused.

Jatu Demby said: “our brother has proved to the world that principals do not only give out knowledge but proves it practically to show that he is determined to change the face of the government in terms of providing food for the people of Baoma and the country at large”.

She said that it is good for the Government to come to the aid of Mr Sumaila who is using his meagre salary to produce enough food.
