Hassan Koroma a man in his early thirties made another appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba road court in Freetown on three counts Charges to wit Conspiracy to commit malicious damage contrary to law, malicious damage contrary to section 51 of the malicious damage Act of 1861 and larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged that on the 18th April 2021 at off peninsular road Hamilton village in the western Area in Freetown maliciously damaged property worth five million Leones (5,000,000) and did steal different building materials valued at forty nine million six hundred and thirty thousand Leones (49,630,000) property of Anthony Y. Brewah.
Prosecution witness number two Joseph Kainande, caretaker of the Land of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice was cross examined by Hastin Spain Gbassy Conteh. In responding to the cross examination,
The witness said that the land belongs to the Attorney General but had never seen any conveyance belonging to the said land. He added that on the day of the incident, he saw the accused on the land and had known the accused long before the incident.
PW2 added that the accused was his boss at one time and they never fall apart and that he was not the individual that took him and his brother to police over land issue.
“We are in good speaking terms and I saw the accused breaking pillars and was holding building materials” witness said.
After cross examination, defense counsel, Gbassy Sesay made an application again for the bail of the accused to be restored, and that the accused person has learnt his lesson.
Magistrate Kekura said that the accused has been given bail before and he has been of good conduct except that he breached out one condition and he has learnt his lesson.
In that light magistrate Keikura restored his bail and adjourned the matter to the 24th August 2021.
