The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq., together with the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, on Friday held a constructive engagement with members of the All People’s Congress (APC) Ad Hoc Committee on the Implementation of the Agreement for National Unity at the Guma Building in Freetown on Friday, 16 January 2026.

The discussions focused on the recently gazetted Constitutional Review Bill, including the process leading to its publication and the next steps toward its consideration and implementation. Both sides emphasized the importance of inclusivity, transparency, and sustained dialogue in advancing constitutional reforms.

Participants jointly underscored the need for cross-party collaboration, stressing that the constitutional review process must remain a national exercise owned by all Sierra Leoneans, rather than a partisan undertaking.

Attorney General Alpha Sesay provided updates on Resolution 4, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fulfilling reform obligations under the Agreement for National Unity. He assured the committee that similar engagements would continue in the coming week as part of ongoing efforts to build trust and advance the reform agenda.

In response, members of the APC Ad Hoc Committee commended the Attorney General and the Ministry of Justice for what they described as transparent and commendable work to date, and called for continued cooperation in the national interest.

Members of the APC Ad Hoc Committee present at the meeting included Dr. Kaifala Marah, Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, Dr. Richard Conteh, Hon. Chernor Bah, APC Legal Adviser Lawyer Africanus Sesay, and Ms. Ajara Mboma.
