As VP Juldeh Reassures Turning Lungi To Financial City…Airport GM Happy Over First Landing

Boeing 738 is the first flight that landed on the new Freetown International Airport and its passengers Saturday 25th March, commended the Government of Sierra Leone for the comfort they now enjoy flying to Sierra Leone.

The Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh is among the top government officials that witnessed the arrival of the first flight over the week end which he described as one that brings satisfaction and happiness that President Bio can deliver what ever comes from his mouth.

“The construction of a new airport is part of our plan to turn Lungi into a Financial City with a Five Star Hotel and the Lungi Bridge”, he assured the people of Sierra Leone.

He said he has visited the terminal, and spoken to passengers whom he said have expressed their sincere satisfaction over what their eyes have seen at the airport. 

According to the General Manager of the airport, Jack Massaquoi, the dream of President Bio for a transformation of the aviation industry has been actualized considering the facelift attraction the airport now has.

The old terminal has been closed since 24th March 2023 and according to the Manager of the Suma Group, the Turkish company running the airport, Ibrahim Sheriff, the new airport has started full scale operation, set and ready to receive larger flights.

Meanwhile, the private sector is being wooed to concentrate their investments in Lungi to help government actualize its plan of turning the impoverished area into a full blown Financial City.

The Minister of Transport and Aviation, Dr. Kabineh Kallon has called on passengers to exercise patience with the new system as the airport management is working round the clock to ensure high quality service.
