The Technical Director of the Referees federation on the 1st of August 2022 commenced teaching the new laws of the game to the National U 15 side as they brace up for West Africa Football Union tournament.
The one-day tutorial takes place at the Sierra Leone Football Association Secretariat in Kingtom, as all the players and technical staffs were present during one day of the tutorial.
Abdul Rahim Sanusi the Technical local expert at the Referees department said the teaching is vital for the young players because European countries these how to tap new talents when they are young,
“If young players have to know the laws of the game before going for the tournament that will be a boost to them, more especially when they are going for international tournament.”
He further that the tutorials cover some of the laws that are playing laws that they are going to meet and what the referees are expecting from them as players to know are the things the tutorials covered. He noted players were taught the quality of good football its sizing, weight, and how the shape looks, and to be able to know between a bad ball and a good match ball.
He added that the players were also taught the area of substitution made by the two teams and how that substitution should be carried out and the coaches of under 15 players that are present lauded the tutorials sessions because these were areas they sometimes get problems with especially when they are about to embark on international assignment.
Abdul Rahim Sanusi said the new amendment laws were sent to them by FIFA to get them as Football referee federations to look at the new amendment and have their say before they were finally implemented as new laws.
“Based on what I have taught them if they put all those into practice they will be on top of the situation going for the West Africa Football Union zone A tournament in Liberia”, he admonished.
Alimamy Kurdish Conteh the Youth Football Coordinator at the Sierra Leone Football Association said the one tutorial for young lads to help them understand the new Laws as they are currently preparing for an international tournament and confident that the boys are going to do something great in the tournament.
Sierra Leone U-15 is side set to depart Freetown for Makeni for their final camping before departing to Liberia.
