As Machines Land In Mattru…President Bio To Turn Sods For Bonthe Road Construction Soon

As Maripoma Road Construction Company landed over sixty units construction machines in Mattru Jong over the weekend, residents of Bonthe District are expecting president Bio to turn sod so that the construction of Kpetema-  Mattru Jong Road  to commence in earnest.

Assuring the people of Bonthe District, Dennis Bango, the General Manager for Maripoma Road Construction Company, intimated that converging the machines in Mattru Jong is to translate the promise made by President Bio in connecting districts, chiefdoms, towns through road construction.

He added that once the road is constructed, that would now enhance unhindered agricultural activities, food security and education across the district.

“These vehicles are here and with more other equipment as you guys saw yesterday and today to make this road from Kpetema-Mattru Jong. We are just waiting on the President to commission the road construction and we will   commence work instantly”, he said.

Dennis Bango also disclosed that Maripoma won 42.6 kilometer road contract from Mattru Jong to Pketema. He added that he would not comment on the other phase from Kpetema to Tinkoko since it is not part of the contract specification yet.

“As soon as possible work will commence the equipment as we came very much prepared and as you guys can see no other company in Sierra Leone can compete with us with the kind of equipment  we have. We have 2 gangs equipment that we have brought for this 42km. which means, we have more equipment than the road requires so at the end of the day we want to make it in a record time”.

As part of conforming to the local content policy, the General Manager also assured the people of Mattru Jong of a friendly working relationship. He said all of their drivers are all Sierra Leones and even him as the General Manager is a Sierra Leonean. He reiterated that Maripoma is ready to work within the confines of the contract agreements as they have local content policies in order to give the people of Mattru Jong what they deserve.

Dennis Bango also revealed that the contract for the phase one costs around twenty-four million dollars ($USD 24 Million).  He also assured the nation that Maripoma is here to stay and maripoma is a company with a difference with an uncommon approach.  He promised to work within the contract timeframe. If they are given 12 months for instance, Dennis Bango assured that they would try to do the work in 10 months or 8months.

He concluded by unearthing that the Kpetema-Mattru Jong road is the first contract Maripoma won from the Government of Serra Leone and expressed  hope that they would  put on outstanding performance in order to win more contracts from the Government.

The construction consignments were well received with a melodious celebration by authorities, bike riders and also famers across the District.
