Abibatu, a commercial sex worker was on Tuesday 15th March 2022 granted bail in the sum of 250M for allegedly stealing one  IPhone 13 pro-max and other assorted items at Roy Hotel from one Sam Ghamloush .

The accused made her first appearance before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road court No 1 on two counts charges of Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny act 1916.    

 According to the particulars of offence on count one, it was alleged that the accused Abibatu on Saturday 5th February 2022 at Roy Hotel Room 102, Lumley Beach Road Aberdeen conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit larceny.

The police further alleged on count two that the accused on the same date and place did steal one IPhone 13 pro-max mobile phone bearing international mobile equipment identification number (IMEI No) 355908662563068 valued one thousand eight hundred united state dollars equivalent to twenty three million and eight hundred thousand leones, one Samsung Galaxy S10 plus,  one Samsung Galaxy Note 9 plus, one small bag containing credit card,  the sum of $2,550 USD and one Sierra Leone passport book with serial number ER 208835 bearing the name Sam Ghamloush and other assorted items all to the total value of Le64, 203,000/00 property of Sam Ghamloush.    

 When the charges were read and explained to the accused in open court, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on her behalf. Police prosecutor ASP Christiana Davis Cole could not proceed with the matter because the complainant was absent.      

 Magistrate Keikura however granted the accused bail in the sum of 250 million leones or one surety in like sum, adding that the surety must be elderly and responsible citizen who and must be gainfully employed from a recognized institution. He added that the surety should produce an employment letter and identity card of the said institution to be verified by the bench and approved by the deputy Acting Registrar.

 However, the accused could not fulfill her bail condition and was taken to the female correctional facility whiles the matter was adjourned to 23 March 2022.
