Brima Baluwa Koroma, the proposed Director General of the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA), appeared today before Parliament’s Appointments and Public Service Committee in Committee Room 1 for official vetting on his new mandate.

Koroma is the first-ever nominee for the position of Director General of the newly established NPRA. His appearance before the committee marks a key step in formalizing the leadership of the Authority, which is expected to play a central role in regulating Sierra Leone’s petroleum sector.

He was vetted alongside other presidential nominees, all of whom are scheduled for final parliamentary approval on Tuesday, 1st July 2025, in the Well of Parliament.

The vetting session was chaired by Honourable Mathew Nyuma, Leader of Government Business, who also serves as Chairman of the Committee on Appointments and the Public Service.

The proceedings focused on evaluating the qualifications, vision, and readiness of the nominees to serve in their respective positions of national responsibility.
