Since the foundation of Alhadi Primary and Junior Secondary School in Binkolo, Safroko Limba Chiefdom, Constituency 034, the school has not got a Senior Secondary School (SSS) to accommodate the high number of Muslim pupils in the Chiefdom.

The Primary level came into being in 1996 after indigenes of Binkolo stood up firm for the extension of their Masjid to accommodate pupils of the school at that time. The secondary level came into existence much later with the donation of former Inspector General of Police Brima Acha Kamara (late) of some bundles of zinc.

Over the years, it has been discovered that pupils of Alhadi who sat for other schools in the Chiefdom find it extremely difficult to cope with Christian faith based schools as they are not allowed during school hours to attend Juma prayers on Fridays as they used to do when attending Alhadi Islamic Secondary School.

According to the Bursar for Junior Secondary School (JSS), Sorie Jawara, parents were asked to contribute Fifty thousand Leones each to start the construction of the SSS building. “Teachers and the parents have been working to put up this structure”, he told this medium during an exclusive interview at the school. He said they want to continue with their pupils from primary until they take the WASSCE here.

He commended the Ministry of Basis and Senior Secondary Education for pin coding some of the teachers and he expressed hope that those volunteers who have been with them over the years be pin coded as well.

Pupils of the school are calling on Minister Sengeh to come to the aide of their parents whom they said are not financially strong to complete the structure that will house the SSS classes.

The JSS building was constructed through the SABABU Project implemented during Pa Kabba’s SLPP regime.
