In a significant recognition of his leadership, President Julius Maada Bio has been appointed as an Eminent Person of the G7+ countries a coalition of nations impacted by conflict and fragility.

In his statement, President Bio expressed his gratitude to Timor-Leste for its ongoing support of the G7+ secretariat. He also reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to upholding its shared principles as it transitions leadership to the Solomon Islands.

This appointment highlights President Bio’s unwavering commitment to peace-building and global governance reforms. As the current chair of the G7+, President Bio has played a pivotal role in supporting the transition of member states from fragile to stable and thriving nations. Over the past decade, the G7+ coalition has worked diligently to amplify its collective voice on peace-building efforts and global governance reforms.

The G7+ coalition consists of 20 member states from Asia, Africa, the Pacific, and the Caribbean. Its primary mission is to promote peace-building and support member states in transitioning from fragility to stability and prosperity. The coalition also aims to strengthen the collective voice of its members in global governance reforms.
