Maruf Kamara made his final appearance before Justice John Bosco Alieu of the High Court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge of store breaking and Larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. 

The particulars of offences state that the accused person Maruf Kamara on the 23rd December 2019 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone broke into the store of Victor Sesay with intent or steal and stole therein One Circular Saw valued at One Million Leones, One Grinding Machine valued at Two Million five hundred thousand Leones, One Roaster Machine valued One Million five hundred thousand Leones, one ripping blade valued at Three Million three hundred thousand Leones and thirty yards of electric cables valued at three hundred thousand Leones all to the total value of Nine Million Two Hundred Thousand Leone’s properties of the said Victor Sesay. 

The accused upon his first arrangement pleaded not guilty to the offence when the charges were read and upon his final appearance on the 28th June 2022 in court pleaded guilty to the offence. 

Justice John Bosco Alieu sentenced the accused to 7 years imprisonment. 

The accused was represented by C. Tucker Esq from the Legal Aid Board and the state Prosecutor was A. Jalloh Esq.
