Feeling appreciated by the good work of President Bio’s New Direction Government, a long-time artist who goes by the stage name ‘Leone Diamond’, has composed a new single titled ‘Maada and Fatima Bio Tenki 4 D Good Wok’.
Leone Diamond well known as Christian Bamia Sharkah, who is currently working as a professional driver at the GCIGC Chinese Company in Sierra Leone, revealed his motivation for the song in an exclusive interview with A-Z Newspaper on Monday 17th April 2023.
“It has been a couple of years since I stopped the music and diverted to another profession due to some challenges. But I extremely got motivated by the great work of President Bio in just five years and I thought it fit that he deserves an accolade which I have done by composing this song,” Leone Diamond expressed.
Substantiating his motivation for releasing his new single, the long-time artist highlighted some of the major developments that had taken place during President Bio’s first five years of governance. ‘The building of the New Lungi International Airport that has rebranded the image of Sierra Leone, the Free Quality Education and the awarding of the Minister of Education as World Best Minister, the awarding of President Bio as Best African Leader, the 30% quota for women, the Hands Off Our Girls, the Removal of the Death Penalty and lots of others in just these five years are what motivated me to compose this song for the President to thank him,’ he justified.
Leone D was planning to stage a performance in all districts but disclosed that he was working on an album but was first looking forward to the hit of his new single. He expressed his intention to take a U-turn in the entertainment industry, especially in the area of appreciating governments and leaders to attract more developments.
Recalling some of his old tracks, Leone D explained that he was the brain behind the song titled ‘Poverty (Popoli Pack n Go)’ in accordance with the Poverty Reduction Strategy theme in 2014 during President Kabbah’s regime, and also the song titled ‘Corruption nor Good’ in 2019 in the early days of Bio’s regime. By then, he said his name was ‘Sea Shark’ which he later changed to ‘Shaka Cee’, and now Leone Diamond or Leone D. He hoped to maintain the new name as he anticipated fame with it.
Leone Diamond directed that his new single titled ‘Maada and Fatima Bio Tenki 4 D Good Work’ could be accessed via Facebook, Twitter and TikTok using the name Leone Diamond. He admonished that fellow Sierra Leonean citizen should learn to appreciate their Presidents and governments regardless of whatever little they were fortunate to do saying that would encourage them to do more.
