A Press Release dated 26th May, 2021 and signed by the National Secretary General of the Party, Ambassador. Dr. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh insinuating that reconciliation has returned to the party has sparked debate within members of the party in Bo questioning the reality of the content of the release.
Speaking to this medium along Fenton Road in Bo, Joseph Koroma who is a member of the APC party thanked the National Secretary General for issuing the press release but said that the political wrangling can only be settled when they have a flag bearer for the 2023 elections.
According to him, there are still people within the party who do not mean good for the party as they are bent on igniting conflict within the party, and such people should be weeded out of the party.
‘’I know them but I will not mention names in order not to create more problems within the party. People in Bo know that APC is the only party that can develop this country but the bad members who claimed to be staunch supporters are throwing spanner into the work of the good ones.’’ Koroma said .
Another APC supporter , Theo Kargbo said that if the party is united, it will be an easy victory for the APC party in 2023 because SLPP has failed the people of the country because the cost of goods are high in the market which SLPP cannot address.
Kargbo said that he admires SLPP because, even when they were in opposition they seemed to be united and this has earned them the victory.
James Gblar another APC support said that “the content of the APC press release is good but the reality is what I am questioning when we have not got our flag bearer and this is crucial if we want to win the 2023 elections.’’
‘’I want to plead with all supporters of the party, especially those in Bo and the southern region to remain united and ensure that we win the heart of others who are on the fence to join the problem solving APC party, which is the only alternative for the betterment of the country’’ he said.
Mr Gblar further admonished members of the party to stop taking the party to court.
“let us work towards actualizing the content of the Press Release from the National Secretary General of the party” Mr Gblar pleaded.
