Alpha Sheriff and others on Monday 7th August 2023 made another appearance before the principal Magistrate of the Freetown Magistrate Court no 1 Magistrate Mark Ngegba and were remanded again at the Male Correctional facility in Freetown.
Led in evidence by A. S. P Juana Bull the witness Detective Sergeant 8676 Issa Kamara attached at the exhibit office CID Headquarters recognized the accused persons.
He said his duty is to receive and ensure safe keeping of all exhibits brought to the office and produce them in court when needed.
He recall on 8th August 2023, adding that he was on duty when Sergeant 8552 Fawundu handed over to him the following item: one pepper spray, one old green human face mask, one Military Combat boot and other items.
He said he took the day said items and register them in the court register book against serial number RCE 2/ 2023 and the said items has since been in custody of the police.
The said items were tender in court to form part of the prosecution case.
During cross examination by defense Counsel Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, the witness said he did not received any arm and ammunition that was loaded
After cross examining the witness defense Counsel renew his previous bail application that he had earlier made.
Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and adjourned the matter to the 14th August 2023 for further hearing.
The accused were arraigned before the court on four count charges ranging from Operating a private security service without license, possession of small Arms without license, having in control of small arm without license and unlawful concealment of arm all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
Police alleged that the accused on Wednesday 7thJune 2023 at Bo were found operating a private security service by the name of SAMU-COCO security, without valid license.
Police further alleged that Alpha Sheriff and Alhassah Kamara persons were found in possession of one grey and black Taurus Arms revolver pistol with serial number ACB 569232(856) without license. The charge sheet further that the accused unlawfully concealed one grey and black Taurus Arms revolver pistol with serial number ACB 569232 (856).
