The Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) Department of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has ended a 3-day Retreat and Refresher Training for all Investigations and Intelligence Officers of the Commission across the country, at the Companero Resort Newton, Freetown, from the 28th to 30th November 2024.
Evelyn Kuyateh Director of Intelligence and Investigation Department acknowledged the good work of her team and urged all to take the refresher courses seriously, as it will guide them going forward. “This refresher training aims to hone the skills of Investigation and Intelligence Officers, thereby improving efficiency and quality of work” she noted.
Madam Kuyateh thanked the organizers of the event for ensuring the success of the Retreat and Refresher Training. She also commended the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to the work of the Department.
Experts in different fields facilitated and presented on various topics such as Intelligence Gathering for criminal investigation, Investigation skills and processes, Effective Report Writing and Summary, Courtroom skills, Search and Arrest Procedures, and Sting Operations, whilst the Commissioner of the ACC, Francis Ben Kaifala Esq., facilitated the Investigators and Prosecutors working together session.
The Deputy Commissioner Augustine Foday Ngobie and the Director of Operations, Emmanuel Koivaya Amara also provided input during the Retreat. They spoke on the importance of teamwork and the need to foster strong working relationships with other law enforcement agencies.
Participants were also engaged in practical exercises, simulations, and scenarios to test their skills and knowledge.
The Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Department of the ACC is responsible for intelligence gathering, investigating, and prosecuting corruption cases in Sierra Leone. The Department has been instrumental in the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone.
