The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Sierra Leone has welcomed a high-level delegation from the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), led by its Vice Chairman, as part of a week-long collaborative engagement under a Twinning Agreement aimed at strengthening anti-corruption initiatives across both nations.

This strategic partnership seeks to enhance Liberia’s anti-corruption efforts by drawing on Sierra Leone’s experiences, proven strategies, and best practices in combating corruption.

The visiting delegation is participating in a series of meetings, workshops, and hands-on training sessions designed to deepen their understanding of effective prevention mechanisms and enforcement strategies. The initiative marks a vital step toward fostering regional cooperation and mutual learning in the fight against corruption.

“It was an honor receiving the team and welcoming them to Sierra Leone,” said a spokesperson for the ACC. He emphasized that the exchange would provide practical tools and valuable insights that the LACC can adapt to Liberia’s specific governance landscape.

The significance of this partnership cannot be overstated, especially as both countries continue to grapple with the detrimental effects of corruption on public service delivery, governance, and development. By sharing knowledge and experiences, the ACC and LACC are working toward building stronger institutional frameworks rooted in transparency, accountability, and integrity.

Throughout the week, the Liberian delegation will engage directly with ACC staff, observe operational procedures, and explore innovative approaches that have contributed to the success of Sierra Leone’s anti-corruption campaign.

This landmark visit not only reinforces bilateral ties between Sierra Leone and Liberia but also underscores a growing regional commitment to transparent governance. The collaboration sets a powerful example for other West African nations striving to enhance accountability and combat corruption more effectively.

As the two commissions continue their partnership, both hope to ignite a broader movement across the region one that champions good governance, civic trust, and sustainable development.
