On January 6, 2026, Ambassador Zhao Yong presented copy of credentials to Hon. Timothy Musa Kabba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Zhao stated that China and Sierra Leone share a deep-rooted traditional friendship and have achieved fruitful achievements in practical cooperation.
He expressed his willingness to work with the Sierra Leonean side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, thereby elevating the China-Sierra Leone Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to new heights.
Minister Kabba welcomed Ambassador Zhao to Sierra Leone and affirmed that Sierra Leone attached great importance to the friendship with China. He noted that in recent years, the two countries have achieved significant progress in bilateral cooperation and international affairs and Sierra Leone stands ready to work with China to advance the continuous development of bilateral relations.
