Her Excellency, Ambassador Haja Ishata Thomas, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait has continued her goodwill gesture at the Muslim Community in Kanigo, Lumley, where she presented two plots of land (two town lots) to the Jamaat for the construction of a mosque.
In her presentation, the Ambassador stressed the need for community worship and thanked members of the Muslim Jamaat for keeping the country in their prayers.
She reaffirmed that most problems being faced in the world today require divine intervention.
Noting the significant role of religion in governance, she expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency the President Dr Julius Maada Bio for his choice of a running mate in the 2018 presidential polls, who happens to be a part of the Muslim Community.
“The religious harmony experienced in Sierra Leone is an enviable one across the world,” she ended.
The Chief Imam of the Kanigo community, Alhaji Mohammed Marrah, thanked the Ambassador for her kind and thoughtful gesture and prayed for Allah’s continued blessings and sustenance in her mission abroad as she serves her motherland.
He further expressed gratitude to God by extending appreciation to President Julius Maada Bio for appointing Amb. Ishata Thomas as part of his nation-building team.
While appreciating the Ambassador, Imam Alhaji Marrah revealed that the community was in dire need of a place to worship, adding that the Jamaat would explore the available opportunities for the construction of the masjid.
Ambassador Haja Ishata Thomas has made several donations since December 2021.
She donated assorted items worth Le30 million to fire victims at the Moscow Community in the Aberdeen Creek; she also donated Le15 million worth of rice plus cash to the teachers of the Murray Town Army School and the Aberdeen Municipal Junior Secondary School and commissioned bore holes in Foredugu, Koinadugu District to provide water to residents of the community.
