Outgoing Sierra Leone Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina who has now been re-assigned by President Julius Maada Bio as Commissioner of National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has bade farewell to the Director General in charge of Africa Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Welcoming Ambassador Ndomahina to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Director General Wu Peng congratulated the outgoing Ambassador on his appointment and wished him well in his new responsibility.

Wu Peng stated that he enjoyed working with outgoing Ambassador Ndomahina and commended him for his contribution to strengthening relationships between the two countries, Sierra Leone and China. The Chinese Director reflected on the diplomacy of the outgoing Ambassador when he facilitated a meeting between him (Wu Peng) on one hand and their  Excellencies President  Dr. Julius Maada Bio and First- Lady, Fatima Bio on the other hand.

The Chinese Director General for African Affairs kindly pleaded with the new NaCSA Commissioner to convey his warm greetings to President Bio and the First Lady, describing Ndomahina as an expert on Chinese policies and programmes.

 Director Wu Peng pledged his unflinching support at all times to the call and beacon of Sierra Leone, observing that the two Countries are not only bilaterally tied but are also partners on the International front and Cooperation.

Making his Remarks Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina expressed excitement and satisfaction for haven worked with Ambassador Wu Peng and his team. “ I am very impressed to have worked with you and your entire team at the Africa Department. Therefore, am looking forward to continue working with you in my new role.” outgoing Ambassador Ndomahina affirmed. Adding that he will replicate back home what he has learnt in China, especially in the area of poverty alleviation.

On behalf of President Bio, the outgoing Ambassador thanked the Chinese Government for its many contributions towards the development of Sierra Leone.

He called on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to partner with NaCSA through people-to-people exchange in sharing experiences on how China was able to alleviate 800 million people from abject poverty.

On final courtesies, Director  Wu Peng reminded the outgoing  Ambassador that the hard work of alleviating poverty is still in progress  in China, pointing out that Agriculture is key in that area that he has told the Chinese Companies in Sierra Leone to pay . “I have admonished Chinese Companies operating in Sierra Leone to devote attention to agricultural activities as well, despite resilience on infrastructural or mining activities,” he added.

He commended President Bio’s moves to prioritize agriculture in his administration and pledged Chinese Government’s support towards President Bio Feed Salone’s program.
