The son of late Amara Kabba (Confront It fame), Kabineh Kabba stage named Amara Kabba Jr.  has disclosed to A-Z Entertainment that he will be performing live during the Faces Reggae Festival on the theme: Make Sierra Leone Green (Climate Change Solution) slated for 13th and 14th November, at Kallon’s Car Park, Aberdeen beach in Freetown.

Kabineh has been in the game for the past seventeen years having lost his father at the Aberdeen beach when he was a kid.

Supported by the wisdom of his father, Kabineh has displayed some semblance of his father while on stage performing the educational and motivational tracks his father left for Sierra Leoneans.

“Confront It”, Kabineh shouted, calling on his youth colleagues to confront their fears and change the narratives for the betterment of mama Salone.

“I will be on stage live performing my own tracks and the ones my papa did to let Sierra Leoneans see that the Kabba legacy continues unabated”, Kabba narrated.

He added that though things are tough especially with regards promotion, he has assured that  as an artist, he endures a lot and stands tall to face the struggle having also lost his biological mother, Annemarie Tiebosch.

“It is good we are having such kind festival for the first time, at least we can use it to promote the country and exhibit our talents as musicians in the Lion Mountain” he admitted.

He commended the initiator of the Faces Reggae Festival, Sorie Obai Kamara aka Obi-phrase who doubles as the Head of the Sierra Leone Consulate Planning Team in Finland and Music Ambassador to Europe.

Ripsta Culture is partnering with organizations including Etnocult and Shain Foundation, which is the Kabba legacy to organize the first of its kind reggae festival in the history of Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry.

Those of us who listen to music in the 80s might have come across songs like East End Paddle and “Tamaraneh”. It would interest readers to know that those songs were done by the Kabba Brothers namely late Amara Kabba and N’fagi Kabba who currently stays in England. Amara went to Holland got married and was blessed with two amazing daughters namely; Kadija and the younger is Amaria who was in the belly when Amara drowned while on vacation after a long stay abroad. The family has been trying to keep the reggae spirit up at home and abroad.
