A young, inspirational gentle man in Bo district has thrown his hat into the ring for the member of Parliament position. The constituency is 086 in Bo district. He got his secondary education at the great Bo Government Secondary School so he is an OBBA member. Before going ahead with a formal declaration, he has turned the sod for the installation of solar lights in his entire constituency. A private businessman for over five years now and married with children, Amadu Nallo has promised to be different if he gets the symbol from the SLPP party executive.
At a well-attended turning-of-the-sod event on the 8 th. April 2023 the explicatory Amadu Nallo moved the crowd and held them spellbound with a down-to-earth speech. He reminded them of how deprived the community is and promised never to create a barrier between himself and his constituents. The occasion chaired by Ibrahim S Massaquoi was attended by district, constituency and zonal executive members. After a brief welcome statement by the chairman the chair lady of the constituency, Martha Campbell used the occasion to remind people to ” go and collect their voter id cards”. She formally welcomed aspirant Amadu Nallo insisting that the party needs him ” with or without a symbol”. On his part, the eloquent Amadu Nallo told the gathering that he is a businessman who has contributed to various development endeavors. He warned the party executive to ” only award symbols to people who have made lives for themselves and can survive without politics”. He made an open pledge that ” Le. 15,000,000 old Leones of his MP salary will be given back to the constituency office for the effective running of the office”.
Aspirant Amadu Nallo also pledged to the Bo Rangers Football Club and also give meaning and relevance to the zonal offices in the constituency. Already he is an employer of a number of Sierra Leoneans. A parent got up and thanked him for the gesture it will be used also by the kids to study at night and thieves are going to be kept at bay because of the solar lights.
And the event was climaxed by the symbolic erection of one of the solar lights by the man of the moment, aspirant Amadu Nallo. He did not forget to praise the coordinator of the occasion, Lonart Yovonnie whom he singled out for helping to shape his life. Vote of thanks was given by a parent.
