A Sierra Leonean based in Boston in the United States of America has established Alpha Osman Dar-Es Salaam Foundation in Sierra Leone in order to contribute to the development of the country.
Speaking to A-Z Newspaper in Bo, the Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Osman Dar-Es-Salaam Foundation Haja Sallaymatu Bah said that
“I was born in Kabala in Koinadugu District, I decided to start the implementation of projects in Kabala because I hailed from there and I have put up a school, mosque and a clinic,’’
“I am embarking on this project single headedly as of now but I am hopeful that the government and other developmental partners will come in to assist since it is for the betterment of the people of the country,’’ she said.
Madam Bah noted that she do not want to limit the projects in Kabala as she wants to ensure that the other parts of the country benefits. She added that she will be doing a tour to do needs assessment so that she will know the needs of the people as according to her Where she finds interest she will work,’’
“People have been asking trying to know the meaning of Dar-Es-Salaam but the learned people said When you have good knowledge you will lead on earth and will lead in heaven. Dar-Es-Salaam means one of the doors in heaven,’’ she said.
Madam Bah said ‘’with or without the government for the mere fact that you are helping the people God will provide but noted that she is still pleading with the government and other people to join her in bring developments into the communities,’’
Some of the beneficiaries of the project in Koinadugu District lauded Madam Bah for the building a Mosque where people can worship God and the school where the children can be educated and the Clinic, where the women and other people can access health services.
They said that the coming of development in the district is timely as they have been in dire need of the services provided for the people in Koinadugu District.
Residents of Bo District, particularly the Muslim Jamaat have called on Dar-Es-Salaam Foundation to consider the people of Bo district as there are communities within an outside of Bo City and Bo district that are in need of such services.
