Yeanor and five others made their first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on six count charges to wit Assault, Larceny, Abusive language, public insult and provocation, threatening language and intimidation.

 According to the particulars of offence on June 6th 2022 at Bawbaw Goderich did Assaulted, stole, used abusive languages, provocation, threatening and intimidate Santigie Kamara by preventing him from entering in his house as they promise to beat him and also from going about his normal duties.

The charges were read and explained to the accused persons and they pleaded not guilty on all counts charged.

Leading evidence by A.B Bangura Esq prosecution witness number one Santigie Kamara a business man he recognized all accused persons as his Neighbor.

 He recalled on the 6th June 2022 he was at home the first and second accused person`s roof fell on his house and they met him and apologized with him.

 He went and bought four leaves pan and he handed over it to the third accused person to fixed it where the pan flew the witness said the accused persons disconnect their electric cables from his own apartment.

 He accused the first and second accused persons that the person that came to disconnect the electric cables is not working for EDSA because of that word the first accused person slapped him on his face and removed his chain that cost eight hundred dollars.

 Moreover, he said the second accused person came and spat on his face and they used abusive languages on him calling him so many names.

Later on that day, he went to Adonkia police station where he made report and a police medical request form was given to him the police medical request form was produced in court for identification.

He came with the police medical request form the police refused to obtained statements from him he was threatening by the accused persons he didn’t slept at home the next day.

 On the same day his son called him and told him that he is hungry then he came at home the third accused person told him that he will deal with him.

 On the same day he was beaten by all accused persons he was with five million one hundred thousand Leones was taken from him by the accused persons.

 He was taken to the Adonkia police station by the accused persons and he get on to his Lawyer Mr Bangura who informed him about what transpired between himself and the accused persons.

 The witness said the police refused to obtained statements from him because the accused persons were at the police station and he decided to come and make private sermon in court.

The witness was cross examined by defense counsel Z. Denkeh.

 On the day of the incident did you hold on cutlass the witness said no, did you know the third accused person yes he is my neighbor, when the cables was cut off did you inform anyone yes i made report at EDSA.

The accused persons arrested you on that day because you commit a crime by cutting the electric cables.

 No I didn’t commit a crime, all what you testified in court is not true, it`s true he concluded. 

Counsel applied for bail on behalf of all the accused persons that they are Sierra Leoneans resident within this jurisdiction.

 That they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses, they’re not flight risk, and they will avail their selves on any adjustment date.

 He made his application pursuant to section 79 2 and 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

However, Magistrate Ngegba granted each accused persons in the sum of forty million Leones or one surety each in like sum sureties to be gainfully employed from a recognized institution bail to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar Matter adjourned to the 28th June 2022 for further hearing.
