Sheriff Kamara was remanded at the Male Correctional Center, Pademba Road in Freetown after he made his first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Freetown Magistrate Court in Freetown on an allegation of murder.
Police alleged that the accused Sheriff Kamara, on Friday 5th February 2021 at Mahama Village in Kerene District, murdered Mariama Kongaima.
Accused person did not take any plea after the charge was read to him.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ibrahim Sheik Mansaray who is prosecuting the matter disclosed that witnesses linked to the case are yet to come to court, but remains hopeful that they will avail themselves before the court on the next adjourned date.
Magistrate Mark Ngegba sent the accused to jail, and he adjourned the matter to Monday 22nd March 2021 for the first prosecution witness to testify.
