Alleged Murder at Qcell Pole: Farmer Testifies

Thirty-four-years-old Mousa Sewa a business man made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of murder contrary to section  one  of the offences against the person Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by Section 1 (a) to the schedule of the Abolition of the death penalty Act 2022, Act No 6 of 2022.

According to the particulars of offence on Sunday 18th August 2024 at Mankneh Qcell pole, Makeni City the bomboli the northern province in Freetown murdered Massah Massaquoi.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person no plea taken

Assistant Superintendent of police Dialla Wellington led in prosecution witness number six Marie Mansaray who resided at Qcell pole new site in Makeni. She knew the deceased and the accused person as her neighbours.

She recalled that on the 18th August 2024 something transpired between the accused and the deceased on the above date. She came from her farmland when the accused called her.  She went upon her arrival and found the deceased unwell. She called the accused brother Mohamed who brought a motorbike, which they carried the deceased to the hospital. The witness said she was later informed that the deceased was dead which  she later made statement to the police.

The witness was cross examined by A.M Kamara Esq. Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional facility in Freetown. However, the matter adjourned to the 17th December 2024.
