On Monday, October 27, 2025, Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, Dr. David Sengeh, met with Emmanuel Iza, CEO of Air Sierra Leone, to discuss the airline’s current operations and future growth plans.

The meeting highlighted the airline’s ambitions to expand its presence in West Africa, with Accra, Ghana, identified as a key destination for future expansion.

In addition to its existing routes to Lagos, Nigeria, and London Gatwick, UK, Air Sierra Leone is looking to capitalize on the growing demand for air travel within the region. With a capacity of 187 passengers, the airline aims to increase its passenger volumes and is calling on the public to support its operations.

Dr. Sengeh’s meeting with Mr. Iza underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening the economy and promoting private sector growth. By expanding its routes, Air Sierra Leone aims to enhance connectivity between Sierra Leone and neighboring countries, facilitating trade, commerce, and tourism.

The airline’s UK route is particularly significant, offering a direct and efficient link between Freetown and London Gatwick in just six hours. This convenience is especially valuable for business travelers and entrepreneurs, helping them save time and increase productivity.

In conclusion, Dr. Sengeh emphasized that while Air Sierra Leone looks to grow its operations, it is counting on public support to achieve its goals. By patronizing the airline and increasing passenger volumes, Sierra Leoneans can play a vital role in driving the country’s economic growth and development. With its expansion plans, Air Sierra Leone is poised to become a key player in West Africa’s aviation industry.
