AIG Mustapha Kamara Raises LPPB Awareness Among Police Recruits

The Director of Gender & Community Affairs of the Sierra Leone Police AIG Mustapha Kamara and members of his team, together with the Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB) Regional Secretary General Freetown-East Mr. Melbourne Greene, on Tuesday 7th February 2023, visited police recruits at the Police Training School, Hastings, where the recruits benefited from the lectures on the concepts of Community Policing, Gender, and the functions of LPPB.

Giving a brief background about the development of Community Policing, AIG Mustapha Kamara urged the recruits to practice proactive policing in the fight against crimes by working together with the community stakeholders.

Contributing to this discussion, Superintendent Saio Conteh, DSP Edna Sesay, and Inspector Mohamed Sillah further explained about the concept of community policing and the two gender policies developed by the SLP, and the need to incorporate the 30℅ women’s quota in every facet of the SLP.

Mr. Greene explained to the recruits that the creation of the LPPB is to help the police by working hand-in-hand to fight crime by creating partnership boards with community stakeholders in various communities.

Deputy Commandant Supt. Fatmata K. Kamara thanked the team for imparting knowledge to the recruits and also solicited for such lectures to enhance the recruits policing prowess.
