AIG ENGAGES LOCAL UNIT COMMANDERS IN THE SOUTHERN REGION

As part of his work plan as the Regional Police Commander South,  AIG Aiah Edward Samadia has on the  21st June 2021,  engaged Local Unit Commanders ( LUCs ) and  some Regional Departmental  Heads at RHQ in Bo for better acquaintance.

AIG expressed his profound gratitude to Commanders for their tireless efforts in the fight against crime and the fear of crime in their respective Divisions.

He spoke on key thematic issues such as 21st Century Policing which entails proactive policing a unique policing style that is generally accepted across the globe.

He implored all LUCs to adopt such policing system of operations in their respective Divisions rather than reactive policing.

He encouraged LUCs to embark on beat patrols, community engagement etc. in a bid to prevent major occurrence in their areas of command.

On the issues of punctuality and regularity of personnel, AIG emphasized on effective utilization of personnel in their various Divisions, he urged them to be regular while on duty.

This he said, can be achieved through constant monitoring of personnel, continuous raids at grey areas, this will be guided by intelligence led policing.

He further encouraged LUCs to make use of intelligence received from personnel on identifying crime prone areas.

LUCs and Regional Departmental Heads thanked the Regional Police Commander South and formally welcomed him and his Deputy Regional Police Commander to the Region, and assured him of their unflinching support at all times.

However, Lots of security issues were raised by LUCs in a form of challenges which were noted by the Regpol South for necessary action.

 AIG called on all to work as a team for effective service delivery in the southern region.
