Director of Professional Standards, at the Sierra Leone Police, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Jah, has threatened to quarrie the head of Prosecution Juan Bull Esq in court for failing to obey an order he asked her to carry.
AIG Brima Jah is supposed to be docked for cross examination before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a matter of sixteen thousand United States dollar theft by his junior Assistant Superintendent of police Samuel Saio Kargbo.
It was alleged that sometimes in this year the accused stole the alleged sum out of one hundred and sixty thousand united state dollars given to him for safe keeping at the finance department.
The money which served as an exhibit was discovered with five gold bars during a search at the Sierra Pam Hotels hotel at Lumley Beach, in a room occupied by some Indian nationals who came to do business in the country but failed to tender same at the airport.
Before the matter was mentioned yesterday for further hearings, AIG Brima Jah warned the head of Prosecution Juan Bull Esq not to adjourn the matter as he is ready for cross examination.
Juan Bull ignored his order and sought leave for an adjournment on the grounds that the substantive prosecutor I.S Mansaray was absent.
Her action makes AIG Brima Jah furious and stated in the open court that he will quarry her for ignoring his orders.
AIG Brima Jah worked out of the court abruptly without the matter being adjourned, an act which prompted the Bench to call him to come back in court.
When questioned by magistrate Sahr Kekura as to why he walked out the court abruptly, AIG Brima Jah said he told prosecutor Juan Bull not to adjourn the matter but she went on the contrary.
In the presence of the Bench AIG Brima Jah repeated that he will quarry her because she did not behave professionally.
Magistrate Kekura admonished AIG Brima Jah not to raise the issue with Juan Bull because as far as he is concerned the lady is before him as a lawyer.
The defense team who has been watching the clash between AIG Brima Jah and Juan Bull, asked the Bench to advice the former not to appear in court with uniform attire because according to them his appearance intimidates them.
They said they prefer him wearing the blue black or the blue black and white attire to come to court.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to the 6th of September 2021AIG Brima Jah to be cross examined.
