After a successful intensive training with a couple of friendly matches, the technical team of the Sierra Leone under-15 male team headed by head coach, Alimu Koroma on Thursday, 11th August 2022 moved to camp 20 players ahead of the  2022 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone ‘A’ tournament to be hosted in Liberia.

Six countries from WAFU Zone ‘A’ will be competing in this year’s tournament including the host, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Senegal, and Mali.

The competition will start on 18th August 2022 and Monrovia will be the host city.

The team is expected to depart Sierra Leone for Liberia on Monday 15th August 2022.

The Youth Coordinator at the Sierra Leone Football Association,  Alimamy Kurish Conteh before the time departed to Makeni conducted a one-training course for U-15 players and the training was done by Abdul Rahmin Sanusi the local instructor at the Referees department. He said the training is pivotal to the players as they are going for the International competition they need to know the new laws of the game and the penalty that involves to the new laws.

 He noted that the training the boys had received has helped them to learn a lot about the new amendment and the implications that involve in the laws. He said the new laws on penalty taking, Off-sides, fouls, and misconduct, when a player can be in an Off-sides position and when he not in an off-sides position and the positioning of goalkeeper in the goal post were areas thought on.
