Sierra Leone will lock horns with Equatorial Guinea at the 20,000 seater Limbe Omni sports Stadium, and the stadium was built in 2012 and inaugurated on January 26, 2016, and is one of the few stadia that is built on a hill and has a stunning view of the sea view.

Sierra Leone Senior national team has recorded two come back on two occasions in the tournament and as it stands Leone Stars need a win to progress to the next rounds of the tournament a draw will be a slim opportunity for them to go through, because if the defending champion Algeria defeated Ivory Coast then it means three of the nations will progress, excluding Sierra Leone base on accumulated points.

Here is the current standing:

1- Ivory Coast – 4 points

2- Equatorial Guinea – 3 points

3- Sierra Leone -2 points

4- Algeria -1 points

Sierra Leone has faced Equatorial Guinea four times and they have tasted one defeat from them in all competitions the last time was in June 2008 as Equatorial Guinea defeated Sierra Leone two goals to one while Sierra Leone had defeated them two times in all competitions.

Most Equatorial Guinea players are playing their Professional football in Spain.
