The Monday’s Duty Traffic Officers held a conference on the 18th July 2022 at the Central Police Division Conference room. The Head of Media of the SLP, Head of Co-operate Affairs of Africell SL Mr. Alfred Lavalie and Duty Assistant Superintendent of Police A.B. Kamara Head of Communications at Kingtom were in attendance of the conference.
The Head of Media Assistant Commissioner of Police, Brima Kamara, addressed the DTOs on the sensitization drive he embarked on with Africell couple weeks ago, based on joint agreement between the Executive Management Board of the Sierra Leone Police and Africell SL.
The primary reason for the conference is for the introduction of a Close User Group by Africell for members of the Sierra Leone Police to join the group so as to ensure an Effective and Swift Communication when exercising their Policing duties.
In his address to the audience the head of co-operate affairs at Africell, Mr. Lavalie, encourages DTOs to take advantage of the opportunity, as this creates a cheaper and reasonable means of communicating with colleagues in the force.
Mr. Lavalie also stated that, if a member of the said proposed group come travels out of the Country, upon informing Africell about their trip, they can activate the person’s number on roaming-facility until the person returns back.
The facility will be activated for the SLP on the 1st August 2022. The Director of Traffic Management and Road Safety Directorate, AIG Brima Kanneh thanked the Head of Media, and team for this laudable initiative for the SLP. He encourages all DTOs to cooperate and help in spreading the message to their subordinates.
