27yrs old Gibrilla Kamara made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916
According to the particulars of offence on the 1st and 2nd December 2021 at Levuma Beach the western area in Freetown did steal four truck batteries all valued three million eight hundred thousand Leones (3,800,000) two Jacks valued one million one hundred thousand Leones (1,100,000) two will pullers valued four hundred thousand leones (400,000) one grey and black color rug valued one million two hundred thousand Leones (1,200,000) and 110 Liters of diesel valued one million one hundred thousand Leones (1,100,000) all to the total value of seven million six hundred thousand Leones(7,600,000) Property of Habib Kabia.
The charge was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded guilty.
The police prosecutor constable 15152 Turay H.B addressed the Bench that fact has changed and there is no previous record.
The accused person was unrepresented he pleaded on his behalf for the court to temper justice with as he didn’t know what came over him to sell the battery for one hundred and fifty thousand Leones.
However Magistrate Keikura in giving his ruling said the accused person having pleaded guilty and taken into consideration that he is a first time offender the accused person is hereby sentenced to three months at the male correctional center or he paid one million Leones to the state
