Accused Persons Remanded For Manslaughter

Honorable Justice Adrian Fisher of the High Court of Sierra Leone has remanded Santigie Bangura alias ‘’Jaygay’’, Abdul Rahman Dumbuya alias ‘’Konato’’ and Alhassan Kamara alias ‘’Bigger’’ yesterday  on three counts charge of conspiracy to commit murder contrary to Section 4 of the Offences against Persons Act of 1861, conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm contrary to the law and accessory after the fact to murder.

According to the particulars of offence for count one revealed that Santigie Bangura alias ‘’Jaygay’’ and two other accused persons on Sunday 29th March 2019 at Adonis street off Mountain Cut in the Freetown judicial terrain the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone murdered Mohamed Umarr Karmoh Kamara alias ‘’Umarr Dada or Joe Crack’’.

Count two provided that on the same date Santigie Bangura and two other accused persons conspired with the intent of causing grievous bodily harm on Mohamed Karmoh Kamara alias ‘’Umarr Dada or Joe Crack’’. Whereas, count three stated that Santigie Bangura and two other accused persons plotted to murder and did murder Mohamed Umarr Karmoh Kamara on the said date of 29th March 2019 at the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

After the matter had been vetted by Justice Fisher, the matter was stood for manslaughter but not murder due to the instances and submissions of the case. The state counsel for the matter was lawyer Christian Solomon Kekura and lawyer Randy Sallieu Bangura in the capacity as the defence counsel. The matter was adjourned on Friday 29th October 2023.
