Morie Sow residing at Econ Drive, Imatt made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pandemba Road Magistrate court no 1 in Freetown on 1 count charge of larceny in dwelling house contrary to section 13(a) of the larceny Act 1916.

In view of the particulars of offence, the accused person entered the dwelling house of Haja Fanta Kallon and stole one long gold chain valued at seventeen million six hundred and twenty five thousand Leones (Le 17,625,000,000) and one set gold earing valued thirty five million two hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le 35,250,000,000), one roll earing valued eleven million seven hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le 11,750,000,000), one choker gold chain valued nine million four hundred thousand Leones (Le 9,400,000,000), one gold chain with mango locket valued ten million five hundred and seventy thousand Leones (Le 10,570,000,000), one set of gold earing and locket valued four million seven hundred thousand Leones (Le 4,700,000,000), one gold ring valued three million five hundred and twenty five thousand Leones (Le 3,525,000,000), one baby gold locket valued one million seven hundred and sixty two thousand five hundred Leones (Le 1,762,500,00) and one gold watch valued four million seven hundred thousand Leones (Le 4,700,000) all amounting to ninety nine million two hundred and eighty seven thousand Leones (Le 99,287,000,000) which are properties of Haja Fanta Kallon.

The charge was read in English and further explained in Krio Language. As a result of the Preliminary Investigation, the accused person did not take his plea.

According to Augustine Amadu who served as the Prosecuting Witness II said he saw the accused person with a black lady’s bag on the 19th January 2022.

 He told the court that the lady’s bag contains several chains. He said he looked into the bag and saw bracelets. Having taking one of the chain, the accused person ran after him for the chain and snatched it from him. The accused person told him that this cost lots of money. Morie Sow, the accused person snapped him twice for his act.

Later, having realized that these are stolen properties of Haja Fanta Kallon, the Prosecuting Witness went to the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarter and made a statement.

Bail was refused and accused sent to the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre to remain in custody.

Inspector MK Taylor is prosecuting and the matter was adjourned to 22rd March 2022.
