On April 18th, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Education Unit of the Southern Region joined forces with the Bo East Division police personnel to tackle illicit practices threatening law enforcement. The partnership aimed to bolster ethical standards within the police force and address societal concerns.
The engagement, held at the Division’s headquarters along the Bo-Kenema Highway in Bo City, witnessed active participation from both sides. ACC Resident Prosecutor Mr. Nigel Davis underscored the paramount duty of the police force to protect lives and properties. He urged officers to execute their responsibilities diligently to counteract the negative perception often associated with law enforcement.
In a show of appreciation, Local Unit Commander Sia B. Sandi commended the ACC’s initiative in public education, highlighting its significance in the fight against corruption. Sandi praised the collaboration as a timely endeavor to effectively combat corrupt practices within the law enforcement sector.
Attendees were encouraged to actively engage in the session by posing questions and seeking clarification regarding the ACC’s mandate. This interactive dialogue aimed to strengthen the cooperation between law enforcement agencies and anti-corruption initiatives.
The collaborative effort signifies a proactive approach by both the ACC and the Bo Police Division to uphold integrity and transparency within the justice system. It marks a step forward in combating corruption and fostering public trust in law enforcement.
