Abubakar Mansaray fondly called (Abu Mans) has on the 13th of June 2023 Wins Kono District Football Association Chairman position Election with a landslide victory.
He contested with three other people for the Chairmanship position which he won with (35) votes cast out of the (54) delegates who voted in the elections, Alhaji Issa Kallon contested against him he secured (18) votes cast, and Tamba Kaigbanja get only one vote cast in the Elections.
The Kono District Elective Congress has been due for a long time now simply because of a lack of funding from the Parent body the Sierra Leone Football Association.
The chairman-Elected addressing the delegates after winning in a landslide victory said under his the Kono District Football Association has a lot of challenges that need immediate work to be fixed to and to rebrand the Football within the District for the Youth and Football loving fans.
He noted that there is going to massive transformation in Football development across the region and the Federation is going to be rebranded where local leagues are going to play across the district.
Abu Bakarr Manaaray has been around the game of Football for more than two decades and he is the Station Manager of the People Radio Station in Kono and one of the widest listening Radio in Koidu Town and the most trusted source for reporting Sports.
Tamba Kaigbanja is voted as the Vice Chairman of the Kono District Football Association as he secured 30 out of the 54 votes cast. He will be working with Abu Bakarr Mansaray to transform Football within the District.
The Election was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere as the loser congratulate the winner for Better Football development within the district.
