Police at the Bo West Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of a four to five months old baby boy by the side of a stream at Gorgoeima Section in Bo.
The abandoned baby later died at the Bo Government Hospital as it was later confirmed. Police constable 19138 Alhaji Usman Mansaray is the information officer Bo West Police Division in an interview with A-Z, he maintained that on Friday 24th February 2023 at around 8:00 am a woman identified as Christiana Lewis together with other people brought in at the Bo East Police Division the said four to five months old baby boy whom they reportedly found by the side of a stream at Gorgoeima Section in Bo with elephant ants all over his body.
Mr. Mansaray said having received the unidentified baby at the aforementioned Police Division, a medical paper was issued for the baby to be treated owing to the way and manner the baby was found by the side of a stream at the afore said community in Bo.
“Whilst at the Bo Government hospital the police were informed that the found baby has passed away and the remains taken to the Bo Government Hospital Mortuary”, P.C 19138 Mansaray informed.
He intimated this medium that as part of police investigation the place where the baby was found was visited, photos taken and statements obtained from Christiana Lewis including some other members of the Gorgoeima Section in Bo.
Meanwhile, police are craving on the indulgence of the Bo community especially the Gorgoeima section to share with them any vital information that will bring to book the perpetrator of such inhumane act. Up to press time the remains of the found baby were still at the Bo Government Hospital Mortuary.
