The Resident High Court Presided over by the Resident Judge of Kono District Honourable Justice Albert Moody has sentenced to eight years imprisonment Mohamed Sesay on three count charges. Conspiracy contrary to law, kidnapping contrary to law and abduction contrary to section twelve (12) of cap thirty one (31) of the laws of Sierra Leone 1960 to be run consecutively.
The sentence include: Conspiracy two years, Kidnapping three years and abduction three years. According to the particulars of offense, the convict on the 27th October, 2020 at Kono in the eastern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to with kidnapping.
The particulars of offence pointed out that the said crime took place along the main highway between Bumpeh and Fao village in the Nimikoro Chiefdom in Kono Judicial District in the eastern Province of the republic of Sierra Leone unlawfully abducted Alhassan Turay.
It could be recalled that Memunatu Jalloh who conspired together with Mohamed Sesay to commit the aforesaid felony was also sentenced to one year imprisonment for pleading guilty and not wasting the precious time of the court.
